SKOLNIK RESIDENCE

The coastal hills of northern California provide the setting for this unique private residence. Constructed primarily of reinforced concrete and glass, the minimal use of materials is consistent with it’s stark environment. The design provides for expansive views of the valley and coast line and features intimate garden within the confines of a circular concrete privacy wall. Perhaps the most compelling feature is the astrological observatory accessible from an elevated walkway above the garden. This project was designed in collaboration with sculptor Robert Skolnik.
